  • Paul Kane of the U.K
  • Dan Kaminsky of the US;
  • Jiankang Yao from China;
  • Moussa Guebre of Burkina Faso;
  • Bevil Wooding from Trinidad and Tobago;
  • Ondrej Sury of the Czech Republic;
  • Norm Ritchie of Canada.
These men (discuss: why all men?) are in a “chain of trust” that will reboot systems that have been crashed.
The “chain of trust” was developed by the private  ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) internet organization. Metro reported

Mr Kane, chief executive of CommunityDNS, based at Bath University, was handed the key in a secret US bunker and has stored it in a safety deposit box.
If the system is crashed, any of the keyholders have access to a system that keeps scammers at bay. The DNSSEC (Domain Name System Security) ensures that websites are officially approved and ‘signed’.
In the event the system needs the keys to restart,  keyholders go US base to watch and verify the system has started securely and within protocols, which includes creating new keys."
